Based on my recent book, this session will explore why we need leaders for sustainability in schools and how this relates to real ‘School Improvement’. It necessitates new perspectives on the role of education so that schools cease to be part of the Business As Usual agenda.

Bio

Dr David Dixon has been the headteacher of three schools in areas of considerable disadvantage across 20 years. Developed a ‘Green Leader’ as part of a doctorate undertaken from the University of Lincoln. For the last two years, David has delivered workshops for Lewisham Humanities Hub on Geography, History and Sustainability, whilst writing the book ‘Leadership for Sustainability: Saving the Planet One School At A Time’ (Crown House).
